As a patient in our hospitals, it is paramount that the environment is one that is peaceful, quiet and
conducive to healing. We understand that you and your family wish to visit, and while we fully support
this right, it has to be conducted in an organised, structured manner. Excessive activity, movement and
noise levels is not conducive to an optimal recovery.
The Visitation Programme
- Strictly two visitor per bedside at any time in all wards. Exceptions may be allowed, only by prior arrangements.
- No children under 12 years allowed, except siblings in the maternity unit, or by special arrangement.
- The visiting hour is divided into 4 x 15 minutes or 6 x 10 minute sessions, allowing a maximum of 8 or 12 visitors per patient per visiting session.
- All additional visitors must wait their turn in the foyer/reception area.
- It is the visitor’s responsibility to monitor their time in the ward and return to the foyer/reception area as soon as their allocated time has expired so as to ensure that the other visitors are able to visit. A sms "time reminder" will be sent to the cellphone number provided upon entry.
- Time sessions will increase should there be less than the allocated visitors.
- ICU visitors are allowed to proceed directly to the ICU waiting area from where they will be managed.
- Maternity visitation is strictly limited to: the father, siblings and grandparents, while still maintaining the two visitors per bedside rule
Your co-operation and understanding of the above process will assist in ensuring an optimal healing
environment.
A call to the hospital will trigger the patient records process which will allow you to access the records you require.
