”I would like to commend Sr. Louise Primoe at Melomed Mitchells Plain Hospital for her excellent attention to detail and her professionalism. I brought my daughter to the Trauma Unit and while waiting on her results, Sr. Primoe walks pass us and noticed that I had a stiff neck. She approached me & in her wisdom, she asked me if I have any health conditions. I then told her that I have hypertension & she asked if she could check my blood pressure. It was then determined that my blood pressure was extremely high, and she went to call the doctor. I was then admitted & ended spending nearly a week in hospital. Things could have been so much worse for me had it not been for the attentive and patient focus actions of Sr. Primoe. In today????????s life it is very far and few in between that people go above and beyond for people, and I was not even her patient, and neither was my daughter. I am truly grateful to Sr. Primoe for her actions. It could have been a life altering situation for me but because she noticed something which seemed so insignificant to me, actually saved my life.”

I was admitted to the hospital on 5th February 2024, and from the moment I entered the trauma unit, I received outstanding care and attention. Upon learning that I needed to be admitted, I was transferred to Medical 1 Ward E, where I encountered incredibly caring nurses. Nurse Speelman, you were undoubtedly my favorite, acting as my drill sergeant to ensure I stayed hydrated, and Judy, what a kind soul, always by my side when I needed assistance to the restroom. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Melomed for having such phenomenal staff who made my stay enjoyable and motivated me to recover. The daily greetings in the mornings and night added a special touch to each day in the hospital. I also want to commend your Chef, as I made it a point to share pictures of every meal with my family members. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Thank you. I understand that your job can be demanding, and patient's like us may sometimes be a handful. Still, none of you made us feel like a burden, and for that, I want to express my sincere appreciation. ”I would like to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to the staff of Melomed Mitchells Plain Hospital for the excellent service rendered on 3 Dec 2023. I rushed my 5 year old daughter to the Trauma Unit as she fell at a nearby petrol station. She injured the back of her head and was bleeding. I informed the security of the emergency & he allowed me to park and opened the emergency door directing me straight to Trauma. As we entered the Trauma Unit the staff immediately attended to us. They allocated a bed & asked what happened & I informed them. Without asking for medical Aid details, they first assessed her & called Dr. Swartz who applied a pressure dressing to stop the bleeding. I was asked to open a folder and the friendly reception staff welcomed me, took my details & showed empathy. I arrived back at my daughter's bedside, the trolley was packed ready for Suturing. Dr. Swartz was so gentle as well as the nurses that assisted her. At the bedside the nurse came to do the dressing and was so playful with my daughter that she relaxed and started having conversations with them. The staff gave her juice as she was thirsty & she was so excited because it was her favourite . The Nursing Service Manager Sr.Isaacs came to do rounds & she was so supportive & shared kind words not because I'm a colleague but I saw her speaking to all the patients and nurses with so much respect. It is a human gift that you feel, its not written in books but displayed from the heart. The unit cleanliness was superb and so clean like a 5 star hotel. Upon discharge Dr. Swartz informed me about all health information and follow up appointment. The security assisted us again & escorted me to the pharmacy on the first floor. The pharmacist attended to me immediately, was so friendly, explained the medication and gave me the reassuring words "all will go well and enjoy the rest of the afternoon". Before leaving the hospital the security came to check if my daughter was discharged before opening the revolving door. On our way out the lovely Nursing Service Manager Sr. Isaacs came to greet me and wished her a speedy recovery. In less than 2 hours we left the hospital . The excellent service goes beyond my expectation with an excellent Nursing Leader that bestows her personal values unto her staff that display their values as angels, especially to the little ones.”
